A friend of mine has it really bad on his legs and torso. Not bad on his arms %26amp; back, but none on his face, neck or chest. He uses hydrocortizone cream, but I didn't know if there were any other treatments found to work more effectively. He also has four fingernails on his left hand that are thick, obviously from a fungal problem, but the prescription meds haven't affected that either.Has anyone used anything successfully in the treatment of eczema?
here is an idea that may work for the fingernail fungel infection -- ADD SOME ZINC to the daily vitamin supplements. Bathing your hands in a bowl of wather with 2 drops of essential oil of sage, every day for a week, will help too. Its caused from bacteria for one thing.. and thick fingernails are a sign of poor diet but also in the maturing years. ';Tea Tree'; essential neat oil drops massaged on nail %26amp; nail beds may also help. IF you know of a armomatherapy shop in your area they can make a mixture of Tea Tree %26amp; Tagetes (5 drops each) oils diluted with 2 teaspoons of olive or grapeseed oil - if its not a fungus.
as for the ';eczema'; -- the root problem may be due to allergy - cow's milk or eggs. There also is some type of correlation between allergies in the family and eczema. Even if parent or grandparent has history of hay fever, eczema, asthma, psoriasis -- or even food allergies!! If mom has allergies she probably passed them on....
Dermatoligist should check that all out -- if its truly bothersome %26amp; itches alot -- it can be releaved by applying affected area twice a day with essential oils. Again, check with nearest aromatherapy shop -- mixure should be chamomile, yarrow, tagetes with 10 drops of primrose oil --Has anyone used anything successfully in the treatment of eczema?
plantolin.
i went to a beauty show and saw it work for myself. purchased some (a case) and brought it to america for my friends and family to try. they have different products for different skin conditions/problems.
do not, however, know how to purchase this in the u.s.
I have eczema. It sucks! I went to the doctor, and he perscribed some oF the strongest stuFF and it worked in like 3 days. Just have him go to the dr. and get some STRONG stuFF. I have it on my Feet, so it isn't that obvious most oF the time, but ti itches like heck and hurts and is embarrassing.
I have a mild form of eczema, and although there is no cure, I use a tanning bed to relieve symptoms. I apply sunblock on all my moles and freckles, and on my face too. I only tan lightly, but not all the time, only when the eczema starts to bother me. It works for me(now hopefully I won't get skin cancer as a result.)
hydrocortizone cream works well in mild/severe cases. My daughter suffers it and contact dermatitis. I have found that using non scented products help, making sure that you dry the affected areas thoroughly when wet and applying a non scented moisturising cream/lotion to the affected areas regularly (2 to 3 times or more daily when extreme) help. In extreme cases it might be worth having allergy testing done. A silicone based moisturiser helps and avoid using soaps and detergents where possible. Liquid non scented soaps are best for washing with.
