Natural eczema treatment for a 10 month child?

My son is 10 months old and has had a rash (i'm told it is eczema) on his body for about 3 months. I have been given creams by the pediatrician, with no luck.


I am looking for advice on any natural remedies and creams that are suitable for infants.

I did some searching around and found something on YouTube about eczema and your children. There is no known cure for eczema, but there are triggers to stay away from, I see someone has listed the triggers.

I found that if I did not giving my son a bath so often helped quite a bit. I usually give my son a bath about 2 or 3 times a week and his Ezema has cleared up. I also use that new Johnson and Johnson body wash that has Coco Butter in it.
My son is 15 months and he has suffered from eczema from just about the start. I use a combination of cortisone 10 (extra strength - doctor recommended) and an ointment (actually comes in a jar and also doctor recommended) called Aquaphor. I use the cortisone to aid with the itching and to prevent/heal wounds and the Aquaphor to moisturize. It is not a cure but it helps tremendously. I apply it as often as needed. You can buy them both at your local pharmacy or grocery store. AdditionalIy, don't bathe him too much. He is 10 months old..a good bath 2 to 3 times a week is plenty. Wipe him down at other times. I assure you that he will be much more comfortable and his little wounds will heal. Good Luck!
My suggestion is to see an alternative therapy physician instead of relying on everybody's 'solutions.' Creams and potions arebe absorbed by the body through the skin and not all are safe for a child.





I'm an adult and I have eczema in my ear canal. Yep. Same thing. Cream makes rash go away and it comes back as soon as I stop using it. The alternative in my case is potential deafness, so that I won't risk. Good luck.

- Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Always keep a lotion or cream on your skin.


- take a short, cool, shower and bath


- use soap sparingly


- don't be abrasive, avoid scrubbing the skin


- avoid detergents, cleansers and solvents


- cool it off, keep temperature a few degrees lower to keep the skin moist


- avoid to much alcohol


- choose unscented skin care products


- watch out diet and have balanced diet with fruits and vegetables


- avoid smoking and alcohol drinking


- avoid scratching the affected area.


- keep fingernails short.


- try not do things and activities that can make you sweat.


- wear clothes that are loose and with cotton and soft fabric

I use a natural diaper cream with zinc and calendula. The zinc helps with healing, and calendula is an anti-fungal. Cotton clothing (including mittens so he doesn't scratch) helps, but make sure it doesn't rub or bind. Also try a mild soap with oatmeal, or just tie some oatmeal in a washcloth and float it in the bathwater. Good luck.
